I’m 31 and I’m buying a house for the first time.
I’m at a point in my life where I can “afford” a house.
This is exciting news for me since I’ve rarely lived “alone.”
The last time I lived “alone” was only for 10 months. In the past I’ve lived with siblings, roommate, and boyfriends.
I’m ready for a place of my own. I guess I’m ready to “settle down.”
And because I can’t do anything easy, the house I’m getting is a real fixer upper and I love it.
I will be using a 203k limited/streamline loan. I’ve done hours of research and I still feel a little lost. So I will be documenting my experience with the loan and the whole rehab process. I’m hoping I will be able to do some of the rehabbing myself – like tiling, painting, putting together Ikea cabinets (which is probably what I will end up using). I am super excited because there’s a clawfoot tub that I’m dying to refinish if it’s in good condition.
So feel free to comment/send me messages regarding it and I will answer them as I can.
